The Leadership Pasadena Class of 2009-2010

Ten Years Strong for

Leadership Pasadena

As 24 are Honored

Nearly 150 local leaders from the fields of education, government, business and the non- profit world assembled on November 12, 2009, at Caltech’s Athenaeum to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Leadership Pasadena and pay tribute to the 24 individuals who helped found the organization.

“This is a great night for Pasadena,” beamed Martin Gordon, Board Chair of Leadership Pasadena, as he helped hand out the honors. “I am touched by this event, this award, and by what this organization has become,” said Tom Coston, Legacy Honoree and LightBringer Project President.

Pasadena City Manager Michael Beck led off the evening with a rousing call for leaders to step up and contribute toward helping Pasadena through the issues facing our community today.

Leadership Pasadena is a seven-month intensive course that combines individual and group leadership skill development with direct insight into the history, culture, business climate, civic and political makeup, and inner workings of nearly every aspect of the city.

Leadership Pasadena has graduated nearly 200 individuals in its ten-year history, and those graduates have created 25 community projects over that period. Leadership Pasadena graduates have volunteered thousands of hours in the fields of education, conflict resolution, environmental awareness, emergency preparedness, and other endeavors.
